Audi, BMW and Mercedes to increase prices by up to 2 percent from April 2026 Price increase to offset escalating logistics and material costs
The top 3 luxury car manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW, have announced to increase prices of their cars and SUVs by up to 2 per cent from April 2026. The new prices will be applicable across model line-up, starting from ICE-powered models to electric vehicles. This will be the second price hike in 2026, as all three manufacturers had increased prices of their vehicles in January 2026 by around 2 percent.
BMW India has announced to increase prices of its cars and SUVs by up to 2 percent across the entire BMW and MINI range effective April 1, 2026. The company claims that the price hike is being announced to offset escalating logistics and material costs. BMW is currently selling a wide range of locally produced and fully imported models in the country. Similarly, MINI is selling 5 models as CBUs in India.
Speaking on the price hike, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said, “BMW Group India continues to create new benchmarks in the luxury automotive segment in the country, with strong demand and a record-breaking product portfolio. However, to offset escalating logistics and material costs alongside a depreciating rupee, we are implementing a price adjustment of up to 2% across our range effective 1 April 2026. This recalibration ensures we continue to deliver the uncompromising performance, cutting-edge innovation, and world-class service that our customers expect.”
Audi will be increasing the prices of its cars and SUVs to offset the rising logistics and material costs. Depreciating Rupee value is another factor that has necessitated this. The prices of Audi cars will be increased by up to 2 percent, but will vary depending on the model. Commenting on the price rise, Balbir Singh Dhillon, brand director, Audi India, said, “Due to recent rising input costs and currency fluctuations, we are implementing a price adjustment of up to two per cent, effective from 1 April, 2026. We remain committed to minimising the impact of the price hike on our customers.”
The German luxury carmaker has also announced its second price hike in 2026, which will be effective from April 1. The prices will be hiked by around 2 percent across its range.
Speaking on the price hike, Brendon Sissing, vice president of sales and marketing, said, “This decision is largely driven by continued forex volatility, particularly the sustained depreciation of the rupee against the euro, along with rising input costs. While we always strive to absorb cost pressures, some price adjustment becomes necessary to maintain business sustainability."
