The Indian auto market will witness the launch of two facelift models; Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. While the Taigun facelift is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, the Kushaq facelift could arrive in the second half of the next year. Both cars have been spotted testing, indicating at its new feature additions such as an ADAS.
Here is an overview of both Kushaq and Taigun facelifts:
Skoda will introduce the Kushaq facelift with cosmetic changes and new feature additions. One of the most significant updates would be the introduction of an ADAS suite. Apart from this, the SUV will get a new front grille, reworked front & rear bumpers, revised projector headlamps. new alloy wheels, and the updated tailgate.
Inside the car, we might get to see a new upholstery, two-spoke wheel, and the ventilated seats. Other feature highlights include a fully digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, 10.-inch touchscreen infotainment, auto-dimming IRVM, among others.
Under the hood, the Skoda Kushaq facelift will retain the same engine option as the current model. It will take power from two TSI petrol engines. Its 1.0-litre unit can produce 113 bhp and 178 Nm and its 1.5-litre mill can deliver 147 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The former is paired with a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT while the latter comes with a 7-speed DCT.
Design-wise, the facelifted Taigun will get notable changes such as new headlamps, updated bumpers, new 17-inch alloy wheels and others. In terms of features, the SUV is expected to get a redesigned dashboard, two-spoke steering wheel, free-standing infotainment unit, new seat upholstery, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS.
As for the powertrain, there will hardly be any changes. It will continue to use the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines. These engines are available with 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, and 7-speed DSG transmissions.
