Skoda Auto recently revealed the name (Kylaq) of its upcoming sub-compact SUV. Ahead of its global debut in early 2025, the Skoda Kylaq has been spied testing in India. The spy shots revealed its single-pane sunroof which is expected to be offered in top-spec variants. Let's read more to know about more features.
The test mule of the upcoming Skoda Kylaq was captured from its rear and roof profile. From the outside, the design resembles the Kushaq SUV. Some of its exterior design elements include crisp lines all around, a prominent shoulder line, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, and an angular design for the tail lamp.
Apart from these, the 2025 compact SUV will get a split headlamp setup, sculpted bonnet, new front grille, LED DRLs, and new alloy wheels. Inside, it might get a fully digital driver's display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new Kylaq could also receive six airbags on the safety front.
Skoda Kylaq will be based on the tweaked version of the MQB A0-IN platform, which underpins the Slavia and Kushaq. Under the hood, it will house the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which can produce the power of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. This 3-cylinder unit is likely to send power to the front wheels using a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
The Czech automaker could price its new Kylaq at around Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will give competition to Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue. Stay tuned for more information.
