Tata Motors is all set to increase its electric vehicle line-up by launching the long-awaited Harrier EV in April 2025. Tata Motors has started teasing the vehicle on its social media platforms; however, the posts do not reveal much about the new product. The production-ready Tata Harrier EV has recently been showcased to media and dealers at the brand's production facility during Tata.ev day.
The Tata Harrier Electric will be based on the acti.ev architecture, which is versatile enough to accommodate different body styles and bigger battery packs. This platform currently underpins the Punch EV and Curvv EV. Tata has not revealed the specifications, but the SUV is expected to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge. The electric SUV is rumoured to be packed with a 75kWh battery pack with a dual-motor AWD setup.
The styling of the Harrier EV is similar to its ICE counterpart. However, Tata engineers will make certain changes to make it look different. The EV-specific changes will include a closed-off front grille and new bumper that houses vertical slats similar to the Curvv EV. The SUV gets LED daytime running lamps with Welcome Function. The electric SUV also gets a newly designed aero-optimized wheels.
The rear design will also look similar to the Tata Harrier ICE, except for the few changes. It gets connected LED tail-lights with welcome function, and slightly tweaked bumper with front-like vertical slat motif.
The Tata Harrier EV cabin layout will be similar to the ICE variant. It will come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of features, the SUV will get ventilated front seats, a JBL-sourced 10-speaker audio system, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-charge (V2C).
The Harrier EV will come equipped with 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, all-4 disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, electronic stability control (ESC), TPMS, and, front and rear parking sensors. The electric SUV comes with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and others.
