The third-generation Honda Amaze is just a few days away from arriving in Indian showrooms, with prices set to be announced on 4th December 2024. Recently leaked images have unveiled all the major exterior and interior changes of the compact sedan. Featuring Honda’s latest design language, the new Amaze borrows several elements from the Elevate midsize SUV and City sedan.
Among its standout features is a bold mesh-pattern grille flanked by dual-barrel projector LED headlamps with LED DRL strips, closely resembling the Elevate. The redesigned front bumper includes a rectangular central vent and small side vents housing the fog lamps. Additionally, the Amaze incorporates a chrome bar running across the bonnet, as seen on the City, while its taillamps adopt a City-inspired split pattern with three vertical lighting strips. The rear bumper features small reflector strips, and the boot lid has a pronounced lip with the license plate holder positioned between the rear light clusters.
Inside, the new Amaze draws heavily from the Elevate, particularly in its dashboard design and steering wheel. The dashboard is divided into three sections: an upper area with a freestanding touchscreen, an Accord-inspired patterned element, and a beige trim with a silver accent. The dual-tone black and beige interior theme is complemented by beige upholstery, silver door handles, and a redesigned steering unit, although the gear knob remains the same as the previous generation.
The infotainment system in the new Amaze is also similar to the one in the Elevate. The higher trims are expected to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen unit offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Advanced safety features are another area where the Amaze mirrors the Elevate. The top-spec variant will come equipped with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes features like a collision mitigation braking system, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, and audio-visual alerts. This makes the Amaze the first vehicle in its segment to offer ADAS technology.
The 2024 Amaze will also inherit the Honda Lane Watch system from the Elevate. This feature uses a camera mounted under the right passenger-side mirror to provide a clear view of the vehicle’s passenger side on the centre console screen, enhancing safety during lane changes and turns.
Mechanically, the Amaze is likely to remain unchanged, continuing with the 1.2L petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. This setup produces 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque.
