Here is what we know so far about the new Skoda Kylaq sub-compact SUV:
Skoda Kylaq SUV will be built on the MQB A0-IN platform. This is the same platform used for the Kushaq and Slavia. In terms of design, the Kylaq will carry the brand's SUV design language. It will feature a split headlamp setup, an all-new front grille, a sculpted bonnet, a shark fin antenna, LED DRLs, roof rails, fresh alloy wheels, and an angular design for the taillamp. Feature-wise, it is expected to receive a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a fully digital driver's display, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and six airbags.
The upcoming Skoda car will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Mated with a 6-speed manual and a 6-peed automatic transmission, this 3-cylinder unit can produce 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque.
Skoda Kylaq is expected to be priced at around Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the rivals, it will give tough competition to Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Renault Kiger.
