French automaker Citroen will be introducing the C3 Aircross tomorrow into the Indian market. Ahead of its global reveal, the vehicle was spotted testing on multiple occasions providing key details of its exterior design, interior layout and features. To sum up everything about the upcoming SUV here is ‘What We Know So Far’ regarding the Citroen C3 Aircross.
While Citroen C3 Aircross will be underpinned by the same CMP platform as the C3 hatchback, it will look largely different from its sibling. The Aircross is a fair bit bigger measuring at around 4.3 metres. Being a mid-size SUV, it will feature a more rugged and imposing silhouette. A look into the recent spy shots reveal the familiar Citroen front end with a slim grille and split headlight setup while additionally gaining a new aluminium skid plate. The side profile will offer bigger flared wheel arches with extra body cladding to further demonstrate its SUV credentials. Towards the rear it will provide a flat tailgate with squared-off edges. Overall, the C3 Aircross is sure to catch your attention when you see it.
The squared-off rear end and increased length of the Citroen C3 Aircross means it squeezes in a third row of seats as well. As reported before, the vehicle will be offered in both 5 and 7 seat layout variants. However, the last row of seats will be suitable for children mostly due to the cramped legroom.
Unlike the hatchback, which has been criticized for its lack of features, the new SUV will offer a lot more. It will provide equipment like a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as a full digital instrument cluster featuring an integrated tachometer. There will be a separate blower with three fan speeds for the roof mounted AC vents provided in the second and third rows. The latter gets USB-charging ports as well. Other key highlights will likely include wireless charging, different drive modes, connected car tech, rear parking camera alongside sensors, ambient lighting, and more.
Citroen C3 Aircross will compete in the Indian mid-size SUV segment, arguably the most competitive and fastest growing category in the country. Upon launch, it will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Škoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and VW Taigun.
