Gets new front-end design; Upgraded interiors; Expected to launch soon
Just months after launching the C3 hatchback in the country, Citroen India is back in news. Releasing a new video on its social media handle, the company has teased the imminent arrival of an update to its flagship product, the C5 Aircross. Set to get significant cosmetic upgrade, the C5 Aircross facelift is expected to launch around the festive season and take on the recently launched Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass in its segment.
While the teaser video is short, it gives us sufficient view of the changes expected on the exterior of the four-wheeler. The upcoming model features a completely new front end that gets a new single piece LED headlamp unit with twin line DRLs. Other additions to the exterior include a reprofiled bumper with larger air intakes, new LED tail-lamp and R18 alloy-wheel. Also unique to the car will be a revamped brand logo.
Moving to the inside, the SUV is expected to come with a new 10-inch infotainment unit with integrated A/C controls and a new larger 12-inch drivers display that now get navigation assist. The French carmaker is also set to have provided the car with ADAS suite that includes forward collision prevention, lane-keeping assist and an adaptive cruise control among others.
Despite going through major cosmetic update, we can expect the French SUV to continue with the familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 175 bhp paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission option. Rumours suggest that a PureTech petrol engine is also in the works to offer variety to its customers.
Once launched, the C5 Aircross facelift is expected to demand a premium of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh over the outgoing model.
