BMW cars has just launched the full electric iX1 SUV with a price tag of Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The German automaker has also said that the new BMW iX1 will be sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India. Interested customers can book their electric luxury SUV through the official website. Deliveries will start from October 2023.
From the design perspective, the electric luxury SUV highlights a bold and muscular design. It features a square BMW kidney grille with a closed glossy black panel With the "i" on the front grille, the EV looks different from its ICE X1 model. Other design elements include adaptive LED headlights, 18-inch M light alloy wheels, square wheel arches, L-shaped LED tail lights, and a large surface diffuser at the back.
The electric SUV comes equipped with a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, operated using BMW's iDrive Operating System. A 10.25-inch digital information display and the interiors are finished in Aluminium 'Mesheffect' with chrome highlight accents.
Besides, the car also comes equipped with a 12-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, and multiple massage choices for the front seats.
Powered by a 66.4 kWh battery pack mated with dual electric motors, which sends power to all four wheels through an AWD. The EV also claims to be capable of offering a top speed of 180 kmph.
The all-new electric SUV comes with fast charging technology. If using a 130 kW DC fast charger, the battery pack can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. BMW also claims this battery pack can provide a range of 120 km with 10 minutes charge using the fast charger.
In terms of safety, BMW provides Driver Assistance Systems which includes Cruise Control with Braking Function, Lane Departure Warning, and Pedestrian Protection.
Other standard safety features include six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control, and more.
