Kia cars is planning to introduce the new facelifted Carnival in India soon. Ahead of its global unveiling, new spy shots have surfaced that reveal what the next-gen Carnival facelift will look like. We take a closer look.
The latest spy shots were clicked in Korea, where the next-gen Kia Carnival looks like it is undergoing ad shoots. Sans camouflage, the MPV is sporting a new design language similar to the one seen on the KA4 that was showcased at the 2023 Indian Auto Expo. The front end features an upright stance with a flat nose, a wider grille with chrome elements, and L-shaped headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The bumper has a smooth design while the air intake is positioned just above the faux aluminium skid plate. Meanwhile, the side profile features chrome elements on the windowline, new alloy wheel design, dual sunroofs, and roof rails.
At the rear, the new Carnival’s L-shaped LED tail lights are connected by an LED light bar, similar to the flagship EV9 electric SUV. The boot lid features a single crease with the number plate holder placed right below it while the rear bumper gets a mix of matte black and chrome treatment.
Moving inside, the next-gen MPV will get a fresh dashboard layout with mostly touch controls for a minimalistic design. It will get dual screens for the infotainment system and intruding console, ADAS features, multi-zone climate control, more upmarket cabin materials and more. Like the previous Carnival, the upcoming model will also be offered with multiple seating configurations.
Kia is yet to reveal any technical details of the new Carnival. However, it is expected to be powered by a new strong-hybrid unit that pairs an electric motor with a 1.6-litre petrol engine. It is not clear if India will get this powertrain or if Kia will decide to offer a traditional ICE unit here.
The South Korean automaker has already confirmed that it will be introducing the next-gen Carnival in India soon after its global release. Expect it to reach Indian shores sometime around mid-2024. Upon launch, the MPV will not have any direct competition but will rival the likes of the Toyota Innova Hycross and the new Vellfire.
