Latest Update - Bentley recently introduced the new Flying Spur globally with tons of updates, including ditching the brand's iconic W12 engine for the same electrified powertrain as the Continental GT. In India, the Flying Spur received a new V6 plug-in hybrid Hybrid variant in September 2023.

Key Features of Bentley Flying Spur 

The Bentley Flying Spur is the ultimate symbol of luxury. It comes with all whistles & bells, such as twin circular matrix LED headlamps, a flying 'B' motif, 21-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels (upgradable to 22-inches), a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, optional 2200W 19-speaker Naim for Bentley sound system, digital instrument cluster, a rear sunblind, wireless charging, rear seat massage function, multi-zone climate control, mood lighting, rear entertainment screens and a 5-inch touchscreen tablet to control various functions of rear seats.

Bentley Flying Spur Mileage

The Flying Spur V8 is claimed to offer a combined fuel efficiency of 7.87 kmpl, whereas the plug-in hybrid unit offers significantly enhanced fuel efficiency, with a claimed figure of 30.30 kmpl. In fact, it can offer an all-electric range of 40 kilometres (WLTP-claimed). The W12 engine is the least efficient among all.

How safe is the Bentley Flying Spur? 

Bentley has equipped the Flying Spur with various safety features to ensure the safety of its occupants. These include multiple airbags, dynamic stability control, traction control, a 360-degree surround view system, a night vision camera, tyre pressure indicator, hill hold & descent assist, parking assist, and radar-based ADAS tech with key attributes like adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, etc.
Colours 

As many as 28 exterior colours are available for the Bentley Flying Spur. Some of them include Extreme Silver, Extreme Silver Satin, Granite, Hallmark, Ice, Light Grey Satin, Magnetic, Moonbeam, Silver Frost, and Tungsten.

Engine and Transmission 

Depending on the variant choice, this British luxury sedan has three engine options: a 6-litre W12 twin-turbo, a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and a 2.9-litre V6 hybrid. 

-W12 Engine: The robust 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbocharged petrol mill produces a whopping power output of 635PS and 900Nm of peak twist, enabling this 2.4-tonne luxury sedan to complete the 0-100kmph run in just 3.8 seconds, which can put some sports cars to shame. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF and an all-wheel drive system, which distributes 60 per cent of the power to the rear wheels. The top speed of the car is an impressive 333 kmph.

-V8 Engine: The Flying Spur is also available with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, belting out a heart-pumping  542 horsepower and 770 Newton meters of torque. Paired with the same 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system as the W12 engine, the V8 mill can complete the century sprint in only 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of around 319 kmph.

-V6 Hybrid: Buyers looking for lower emissions can go with the Flying Supr 2.9-litre V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers a combined power output of 544PS and a peak torque of 750Nm. It offers a top speed of 285kmph, with acceleration from 0-97 kmph sprint in just 4.1 seconds. It comes equipped with a 14.1kWh lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in just 2.5 hours. With all-electric propulsion, the car is capable of achieving a WLTP-claimed range of 40 kilometres. 

Dimensions and Boot Space

Dimensionally, the Flying Spur is 5316mm long, 2428mm wide, and 1488mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 110mm.
