Citroen India today launched an updated version of its flagship product, the C5 Aircross SUV in the country. Available at an introductory price of Rs 36.67 lakh (ex-showroom), the SUV carries a host of exterior cosmetic changes as well as interiors updates.
Adding more bling to the package, Citroen has given the C5 Aircross a sharper front end design along with a more mature headlamp design. The chrome lines running across the front of the car now neatly integrates into the LED DRLs, while the front bumper gets muscular air scoops and a new air intake flanked by fog lamps on both ends. The side profile is enhanced by new design 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, while the rear profile gets new signature LED tail lamps. The boot space on the new model has increased to 580-litres.
Moving to the interior, the car gets a new 10” touchscreen, redesigned centre console and new gear shifter and drive mode buttons. The large panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster and the gloss black treatment enhance the premium appeal of the cabin. The updated model also gets acoustic laminated front windows to amplify the cocoon effect within the car.
Making the announcement, Roland Bouchara, CEO & Managing Director, Stellantis India, said, “We are excited to launch the new C5 Aircross SUV in India, our flagship SUV in the Citroën portfolio and it embodies all the elements of the Citroën Advanced Comfort® program. C5 Aircross, recognised since its launch as the most comfortable and flexible SUV in its category, has now been given a makeover to assert a more prestigious, modern and dynamic personality”.
The new C5 Aircross will continue with the same powertrain option comprising of a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine pushing out 175 bhp and 400 Nm torque, mated to an 8-speed AT gearbox.
The updated SUV takes on the likes of Jeep Compass, 2022 Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan in its segment.
