India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Maruti Suzuki has just launched the Fronx CNG in India. Prices for the new model start from Rs 8.42 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Sigma variant and go up to Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Delta model. This is a premium of Rs 95,000 over the petrol-powered models.
There are no visible differences between the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG and petrol models from the outside. The biggest change is the factory-fitted CNG tank in the boot which has also compromised the storage space of the vehicle. Additionally, the Fronx CNG is only offered in two trim levels, Sigma and Delta.
The interior too remains the same on the models. Key feature highlights include a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, reverse parking sensors, auto climate control, steering-mounted controls, and more.
The Fronx CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated engine. It makes 77.5 bhp with 98.5 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission option. Maruti Suzuki claims an ARAI-certified economy figure of 28.51 km/kg.
The only direct rival to the Fronx CNG is its sibling, the Brezza CNG, which also gets a factory-fitted CNG kit. Other petrol rivals in the segment include the Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, and the Tata Nexon.
