MG's third electric car, the Windsor EV is soon to make its arrival in the Indian market. Ahead of its launch on September 11, select dealerships have started accepting bookings. Interested customers can visit their nearby MG dealerships for more details.
The upcoming Windsor EV is the rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV, sold internationally. MG will position its new electric car between Comet EV and ZS EV.
From the design perspective, the upcoming EV is expected to get LED light bars at the front and rear. Besides, there can be a vertically stacked headlamp cluster, projector headlights, integrated spoiler, flush-fitting door handles, and stylish alloy wheels.
In terms of features, the Windsor EV could come with Black leatherette upholstery for seats. Other noteworthy features might include a panoramic sunroof, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, ambient lighting, rear seats with 135-degree recline function, 8.8-inch digital driver's display, 15.6-inch touchscreen with connected car tech, wireless phone charging, power tailgate, and more.
As for safety, the upcoming MG EV is expected to offer six airbags as standard. Other safety features might include an electronic parking brake, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, a 360-degree camera, and more. An ADAS suite might also be on offer.
The international model (Cloud EV) is offered with two battery packs - 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh, mated to a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The smaller battery pack offers a maximum range of 360km while the larger unit can deliver 460km on a single charge. Talking about the Indian version (Windsor EV), the battery details are yet to be revealed.
Positioned below the ZS EV, the Windsor EV could be priced under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be tough competition to the recently launched Tata Curvv EV. It will also rival the likes of Mahindra XUV 400 and Tata Nexon EV.
