Tata Motors is currently dominating the electric passenger vehicle category, thanks to the huge success of the Nexon.ev. The company also offers electric derivatives of the Punch, Tiago and Tigor. Moreover, the Curvv EV, Harrier EV, Safari EV and the Sierra EV will be launched before the end of 2025. Tata Motors had launched the Nexon.ev facelift in September 2023.
The 2024 Tata Nexon.ev comes with significantly revised exterior and an all-new feature-loaded cabin along with some mechanical updates. The new model now offers more range compared to the pre-facelift model. In this article, we talk about the top 5 things you should know about the new Tata Nexon.ev facelift.
The Nexon.ev facelift styling is inspired by the Curvv SUV Coupe concept. Tata Motors claims that the new model is more aerodynamic than before, contributing to its overall performance & range. Moreover, the new LED lighting elements are more energy efficient and offer an improved range.
The upper portion of the front fascia has a single-tone, body-coloured finish. It has a full-width LED daytime running lamp that also shows the charging status, while the lower bumper has sealed-off metallic strakes. It comes with a split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top and main headlamp unit with trapezoidal housings are placed on the lower bumper.
At the rear, the vehicle boasts fresh LED taillights with an interconnected pattern, and Tata's clever integration of the rear wiper into the spoiler, reminiscent of Range Rover design, contributes to a sleek and uncluttered overall aesthetic. The vehicle's profile maintains a similarity to the current model, marked by its rising beltline and a coupe-like effect, ensuring a familiar yet modern appeal.

The new Nexon EV comes with a completely new & feature-loaded cabin. The SUV comes with an all-new layered dashboard design complemented by different textures and materials such as soft touch materials, piano black finish and carbon-fibre-like elements. It is packed with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with an all-new user interface, a 10.25-inch digital driver display with navigation display, touch-based HVAC controls with toggle switches, and a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo.
Other features include a 360-degree surround view camera, telematics, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, air purifier, single-pane sunroof, JBL-branded sound system, voice commands and others.
For safety and security, the new Nexon.ev comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control as standard. It also gets front & rear parking sensors, blind view monitor, 3-point seat belts for all seats, hill descent & ascent control, all-wheel disc brakes, panic brake alert, iTPMS and others. Additionally, it sports an alert system and emergency and breakdown call assist.
The new Nexon.ev Facelift is broadly offered in two trim levels - MR and LR. Both trims are further split into three trims - Creative, Fearless and the top-spec Empowered. The company has also offered optional packages with these trims, denoted by a '+' suffix. The LR trim is only offered with the Fearless and Empowered trims. The Nexon.ev facelift range starts at Rs 14.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Nexon.ev is offered in two variants - MR and LR. While the MR gets a 30kWh battery, the LR sports a larger 40.5kWh battery. The Nexon.ev MR is claimed to offer an ARAI certified range of 325km on a single charge. On the other hand, the LR variant has a claimed range of 465km on a single charge.
The MR produces 129hp and 215Nm of torque, while the LR offers 145bhp and 215Nm. The higher-spec Nexon.ev is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 8.9 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 150kmph. The SUV offers 3 drive modes - Eco, City and Sport - along with a four-level brake regeneration using the paddle shifters.
The MR variant batter can be fully charged in 4.3 hours using a 7.2kW AC charger, while the LR battery takes 6 hours to fully charge. The SUV also supports V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) charging capabilities.
