Electric cars are becoming popular and mainstream with every passing day. However, the customer might hesitate to buy a new EV due to range anxiety. Here is the list of the best ten EVs in the premium segment with the best WLTP claimed range:

Mercedes-Benz EQS (677 km)

The Mercedes Benz EQS is one of the longest-range EVs in the country. Priced between Rs 1.55 crore to Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom), the electric sedan is offered in two trims; EQS 580 4MATIC and AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+. Both variants come equipped with a dual electric motor setup mated to a 107.8 kWh battery pack.

The 580 4MATIC is rated for a maximum power output of 515 bhp and a peak torque of 855 Nm of torque. Talking about the range, it offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 677 km. It is also worth specifying that its ARAI claimed range is even higher with 857 km.

On the other hand, the 53 4MATIC+ trim produces 649 bhp and 950 Nm. The claimed range for this model is 586 km. Prices for the EQS model hover between Rs 1.55 crore to Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom).

BMW i7 is another electric sedan that comes with an amazing range. In India, the i7 model is available in only one trim; xDrive60 which is priced at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom). The electric sedan comes equipped with a dual-electric motor setup which delivers a power output of 590 bhp of power output and 625 Nm of torque. Powered by a 101.7kWh battery pack the car offers a WLTP-certified range of 625 km.

BMW i4 all-electric sedan launched in India with the price tag of Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This was the second EV offering in India from the brand. Available in eDrive40 guise, the electric sedan comes equipped with an 83.9kWh battery pack that produces a power of 335 bhp with 430 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels. As far as the range is concerned, it offers a WLTP-claimed range of 590km.

Kia EV6 (528 km)

The KIA EV6 was KIA's first electric model in India that was launched at a starting price of Rs 60.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric car is available in two variants; GT Line RWD and GT Line AWD. Powered by a 77.4 kWh battery pack, the car is available in single motor rear-wheel drive (228 bhp and 350 Nm) and a dual motor all-wheel drive (323 bhp and 605 Nm). KIA EV6 offers a WLTP-claimed range of 528 km and an ARAI-claimed range of 708 km.

Audi launched its e-tron GT model in India at Rs 1.70 crore (ex-showroom). The car comes in two variants; e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. Both variants get a 93 kWh battery pack. The Standard model produces 470 bhp and 630 Nm of torque while its RS version generates 590 bhp and 830 Nm. The e-tron GT model offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 500 km.

The Audi e-tron was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 1.01 crore which goes up to Rs 1.19 crore (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is available in two trims named e-tron 50 and e-tron 55. The SUV is powered by two battery packs; 71 kWh (307 bhp and 540 Nm) and 95 kWh (402 bhp and 664 Nm). It also features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. With two battery packs, the car offers a WLTP-claimed range of 359-484 km and 264-379 km respectively.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a compact crossover electric SUV that launched in India with a price tag of Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV comes in one variant named Long Range RWD. The India-spec model comes equipped with a 72.6 kWh battery pack coupled to a single motor which produces 214 bhp and 350 Nm. It also gets a rear-wheel drivetrain system. The Ioniq 5 has a WLTP-claimed range of 481 km while its ARAI-claimed range is even higher at 631 km.

Available in only xDrive 40 guise, the iX model gets a 76.6 kWh battery pack (321 bhp and 630 Nm). Besides, the electric SUV has a dual electric motor setup and an all-wheel drivetrain system. As per the WLTP-claimed range, the car provides a range of up to 425 km.

It generates 224 bhp of power output and 390 Nm of torque. Besides, it features an all-wheel drivetrain and offers a WLTP-claimed range of 423 km.
