A series of new cars of different body types are about to enter the market very soon. We have put together a ranked list of the top 10 cars that are capturing a lot of web interest, alongside their important features and a few technical specifications.
Expected to launch - October 2024
The new Swift, now in its fourth generation, provides inspiration for the Maruti Dzire which shows off a sleek exterior. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series engine that makes 80bhp along with 112Nm of torque. That upgrade will include an entirely new dashboard fitted with a larger touchscreen, USB Type-C ports and cruise control. Reports suggest that it will come equipped with an ADAS suite, a first for Maruti.
Expected to launch - January 2025
The upcoming Honda Amaze facelift will feature a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit delivering 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Candidates will have the choice of choosing between 2 options: a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The updated interior will consist of a touchscreen alongside a completely digital instrument cluster. It might also get Level 2 ADAS features to improve both user comfort and safety.
Date of official launch - October 3
Launching on October 3, the new Kia Carnival will feature the familiar 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 193hp and 441Nm of torque coupled with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Notable features include dual electric sunroofs, a 12-speaker Bose audio system and an ADAS safety suite. You can pre-book the MPV for a token of Rs 2 lakh. The 2024 Kia Carnival registered over 1,800 pre-bookings on its first day.

Kia will also launch the EV9, an all-electric SUV on October 3, which comes fitted with a 99.8kWh battery pack capable of producing 379bhp along with a peak torque of 700Nm. Sources report a range of 561 kilometres and the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in only 24 minutes with a DC fast charger.
Expected launch date: Early 2025
The Tata Punch facelift will continue to use the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor, producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. An updated design with modernised LED headlights and a spacious 10.25-inch infotainment system touchscreen will also be added. Other features will include both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a digital instrument console.
Expected launch time: Q1 2025
The Tata Harrier EV will have an AWD dual-motor setup. At this point, accurate battery capacity data is still unavailable; it is assumed, however, that it will deliver significant improvements in both range and performance than other Tata EVs. The electric vehicle’s dashboard is likely to get multiple screens and other connected car technologies. Tata will also offer ADAS in the Harrier EV.
Expected launch time: December 2024 or January 2025
Planned to launch in late 2024 or early 2025, the Mahindra XUV.e8 is reportedly going to include an 80kWh battery and a maximum range of up to 500 km. With a triple-screen layout in the cabin, it will upgrade user experience regarding touch inputs and a variety of connectivity options. With the electric XUV700, Mahindra aims to integrate usability with new-age features.
Expected launch time: Late 2025 or 2026
The recently revealed next-generation Renault Duster will come with important updates - strong lines with a butch look, Y-shaped LED DRLs and an upgraded front and rear. The SUV’s cabin will feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display alongside an all-digital instrument cluster. A 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engine is likely to come in the Duster, putting performance and efficiency first. Upon launch, it will rival the Citroen C3 Aircross, Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
Expected launch time: January 2025
Hyundai will fit its electric version of the Creta with a 45kWh battery pack as part of its plans. The front-mounted electric motor will make 138bhp and 255Nm of torque, giving an expected range of up to 450 km after each charge. In terms of design, it will resemble the ICE Creta with a few EV-specific bits like an enclosed grille and new aerodynamic alloy wheels. Inside, it will boast high-tech features shared with the IONIQ 5, such as a dual-screen setup and ADAS safety suite.
Expected launch time: Early 2025
The Maruti Suzuki eVX, based on a new skateboard platform developed with Toyota, will feature two battery pack options: 48kWh and 60kWh. Reports suggest that the larger unit will have a range higher than 500 km, however, the smaller alternative is going to offer a maximum range of 450 km. There could be a dual-motor AWD setup for improved performance. Notably, the eVX will mark Maruti Suzuki’s debut in the electric space here.
