Hyundai Motor India launched the facelifted Grand i10 NIOS in the country earlier this year with both petrol and CNG variants. The hatchback offers a refreshed exterior design with arrow shaped LED DRLs, a larger front grille alongside an upgraded bumper, a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels, a sculpted bootlid, and LED tail lights which are connected via a reflector bar.
Its interior has been slightly spruced as well. The cabin offers features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, connected car tech, cruise control, keyless entry & go, wireless charging, auto climate control, and more.
Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG comes powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 68 bhp with 95 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The car has a claimed efficiency figure of 28 km/kg.
While the Aura is based on the Grand i10 NIOS, Hyundai has done a good job distinguishing the two models. The subcompact sedan was recently given a facelift just a couple of months ago. Its front end features a new slim grille and large trapezoidal air dam that is flanked by inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The side and rear profile remain unchanged except for the edition of a new boot lid spoiler.
Like the exterior, the interior receives updates in the form of new copper-coloured inserts around the dashboard and gear console. Tata Tiago apart from its petrol derivative also comes in CNG. It is the company’s entry-level CNG offering. Launched in early 2022, the Tiago CNG has a familiar exterior design but receives subtle updates like new projector headlights, LED DRLs, and 14-inch stylised steel wheels.
Inside, Tata Tiago CNG offers a dual-tone beige and black interior theme. The hatchback provides a long feature list which includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a full digital instrument cluster, auto climate control, ambient lighting, Harman 8-speaker audio system, height-adjustable driver’s seat, electric ORVMs, and more.

Tata launched the Tigor CNG around mid-2022 with the automaker aiming to expand its CNG powered range in India. The Tigor is a distinctive looking subsedan with its fastback-like silhouette. Up front, it features a chrome highlighted grille with tri-arrow elements that flank the projector headlights. The fog lamps surrounds and air dam have been finished in chrome as well. The side profile provides 14-inch stylised steel wheels and chrome finishing on the windowline while the rear end stands to offer a wide chrome bar connecting the taillights.
Move to the inside and the car features a black and gray dual-tone interior theme with textured plastics. Its equipment list comprises a 7-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital instrument cluster, auto climate control, rear AC vents, rear parking camera & sensors, audio setup by Harman, and more.
2024 Tata Tigor shares its powertrain with the Tiago hatchback. It is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit making 72 bhp with 95 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It too claims an economy figure of 26.49 km/kg.
The All-New Maruti Suzuki Brezza is currently the only compact SUV in the country to be offered in a CNG-variant. The automaker gave its popular SUV a comprehensive mid-life facelift last year with a redesigned exterior and updated interior.
The Brezza’s front end offers a flatter bonnet with a slimmer grille sitting below, flanked by new headlights with a prominent LED DRL signature. The bumper is all-new as well. The SUV’s silhouette remains similar, but now gets a reprofiled rear quarter glass, more body cladding around the flared wheel arches, and new 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear end features slim LED tail lights, a reprofiled bumper, and a faux aluminium skid plate.
Inside, the SUV’s interior provides an all-new dashboard layout with a layered design offering brown inserts around the AC vents. The four-wheeler comes packed with features like a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, connected car tech, Heads-Up Display, ambient lighting, a sunroof, auto climate control, a 360-degree camera, and more.
The vehicle is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The powertrain produced 87 bhp and 122 Nm torque. It comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki claims a mileage of 25.51 km/kg for the CNG Brezza.

If you are looking for a CNG-powered SUV, then currently the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is the only option out there for you. The hatchback segment has two great choices which include Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and Tata Tiago. Go for the former if you want features while the latter offers more safety. In case you require a subcompact CNG-powered sedan, then one could go either for the Hyundai Aura or the Tata Tigor. The latter looks more attractive with its fastback design while the former has just been updated with an exterior refresh.
