After having an eventful 2022, Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch a minimum of three new car models during 2023-2024. India's leading SUV manufacturer has also unveiled its new INGLO EV skateboard platform that is all set to spawn new born electric models starting 2024. The company has also set-up two new brands (BE and Electrified Twin Peaks) to offer future mobility products with revolutionary interior and exterior designs.
Although there are numerous launches in the coming years, this blog is covering the most popular upcoming Mahindra car launches starting from January 2023. The list of new Mahindra car launches includes the XUV400, Thar 5-door, and the BE.05 models.

Mahindra XUV400 is the company’s first EV that is expected to launch in India by January 2023. Powered by a 39.4kWh battery pack, the new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV can produce a maximum power output of 150 bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque. It is said that the EV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.3 seconds and offer a range of 456 kms on single charge.
Talking about the equipment on offer, this upcoming Mahindra car features a new grille with X-shaped inserts, copper accents, and projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. With a black interior theme and copper inserts, the new XUV400 will feature BlueSense connectivity, an electric sunroof and a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other specifications such as six airbags, steering-mounted controls, and all four disc brakes will also be provided in the new XUV400 EV SUV.
The upcoming Mahindra cars price is yet to be revealed. However, we can expect it to cost somewhere in the region of Rs 17 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom); The expected launch date of the Mahindra XUV400 EV is January 2023.
The next car on the list is the Mahindra Thar 5-door. Set for a launch in 2023, the new SUV model will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and the Force Gurkha 5-door. As per reports, the popular Mahindra upcoming car is likely to get a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol motor and the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The model will also be having a 6-speed manual and an automatic transmission.
From the outside, the 5-door Thar is expected to retain the same design as the 3-door version but feature an extended wheelbase to accommodate the extra set of doors and the additional seating. The feature list includes the signature six-slat grille design, 18-inch alloy wheels, chunky wheel cladding, square tail lights, remote keyless entry, cruise control, and more.
The upcoming Mahindra SUV, the Thar may arrive with a price tag of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), though the final price will be confirmed at launch.
The last car on the list is the new BE.05 EV. This is expected to be the first dedicated model from Mahindra’s new Born Electric (BE) family. The BE.05 will be followed by the BE.07 and the BE.09 as well.
Built on the new INGLO electric skateboard platform, the BE.05 will feature spacious and practical interiors. In terms of dimensions the upcoming Mahindra electric SUV will measure 4370 mm in length, 1900 mm in width and 1653 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2775 mm. The Mahindra BE.05 will feature a couple-like roofline, similar to what was seen on the XUV Aero Coupe concept showcased at Auto Expo 2016.
Other highlights on the outside include aero alloy wheels, integrated roof spoiler, and blanked-off grille, which house "The Tech Shield" ADAS sensors. On the inside, the upcoming BE.05 will be distinguished by a dual-display arrangement built into the single-piece unit, cloth door handles, and a distinctive steering wheel with a 12-hour indicator.
Since Mahindra BE.05 is slated to launch in October 2025, the technical specifications have not yet been finalized but expect the SUV to come powered by either a 60 kWh (Prismatic) or 80 kWh (Blade) cell architecture. The new BE.05 is anticipated to cost between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
