Sub-four metre SUV segment is one of the most in-demand segments right now and presents an interesting mix of ride quality, superior ground clearance, features on board and engine performance. Maruti’s Brezza is one among this sea of SUVs that you can consider as your next car.
If you are interested in buying the Brezza, continue reading to find out how the car fares on the following parameters before making a buying decision:
As standard for SUVs under four metres long, Brezza has a tall ground clearance of 200 mm, meaning that plying over bumpy roads and potholes should not be a problem in this one. For reference, the Hyundai Venue falls short of the Brezza by 5 mm at 195 mm.
Notably, high ground clearance may cause ingress and egress difficulty and instability at high speeds.
If LEDs are an important styling bit for you, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza has got you covered on that front. From the dual headlamps to taillights all are LEDs. Side cladding in black on the sides and back adds to the SUV stance while saving the body panels from dents.
Geometric alloy wheels measuring 16 inches and the shark fin antenna are also offered. Ten colours on offer have 3 dual-tone paints as well.
While ambient lighting, dual-tone (brown and black) interior and rear AC vents are present, the Brezza’s interior should also be considered for its sunroof, head-up display, remote AC control, 360-degree camera and connected tech. Paddle shifters start with the VXi automatic.

To note, Maruti Suzuki is yet to offer the ADAS suite with its cars in India. We expect the Japanese car giant to make an ADAS debut with either the upcoming eVX or the seven-seater Grand Vitara.
There is only a 1.5-litre K-series motor on offer which churns out 102 bhp and 136.8 Nm and has no diesel in the lineup. You can pair this engine with a mild hybrid system which returns a maximum 19.90 kmpl mileage. Though Maruti also offers the Brezza with a CNG bi-fuel combo, it cannot be bought with the hybrid tech and automatic transmission. However, the CNG car boasts a class-leading mileage of 25.51 km per kg, its major selling point.
Petrol and CNG tank capacities are 48 and 55 litres, respectively.

Moreover, the base CNG Brezza comes at a premium of nearly Rs. 1 lakh. The opposite is the case when it comes to the top-end petrol and CNG variants as there’s a difference of Rs. 1.90 lakh with the petrol ZXi AT dual tone variant being the pricier one at Rs. 14.14 lakh. If you are not looking for the dual tone paint scheme, the ZXi S fits the bill saving you Rs 16,000.
Maruti’s Brezza rivals the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and the recently launched Mahindra 3XO in the domestic market.
