Latest Updates: The extravagant BMW i7 electric saloon receives a more powerful M70 xDrive variant in India.
This all-electric iteration of the BMW 7 Series is priced from Rs 2.03 crore to Rs 2.50 crore (ex-showroom).
Variants: Currently, the BMW i7 is offered in 3 variants: eDrive50 M Sport and M70 xDrive .
The luxurious electric sedan shares its features list with the seventh-gen 7 Series, comprising a panoramic glass roof, a 14.9-inch infotainment system, connected car tech, a 12.3-inch curved digital cockpit, powered front & rear seats with massage, ventilation and heating functions, 4-zone climate control, ambient lighting, heads-up display, a 31.3-inch 8K touchscreen display for the rear passengers with built-in Amazon Fire TV, optional 4D Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, and two 5.5-inch screen over the rear door pads to control the infotainment, rear theatre screen, AC, seats setting and much more. Also included with the EV are 2-axle adaptive air suspensions with self-levelling function, active rear steering tech, and the optional Executive Drive Pro, which works by actively compensating for road unevenness.
Assuring one’s safety, the i7 comes with multiple airbags, Dynamic Braking lights, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS with Brake Assist, and Driving Assistance Professional Package.
The i7 is available in seven metallic colour options: Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, Carbon Black, Mineral White, Oxide Grey, BMW Individual Dravit Grey, and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue.
Powering the BMW i7 xDrive 50 variant is a 101.7kWh battery pack linked with two e-motors making a combined power output of 544PS, along with a peak torque of 645Nm. The company claims a 0-100kmph sprint time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 250kmph. On the other hand, the performance-oriented M70 xDrive variant generates 657PS and 1100Nm, enabling it to complete the century sprint in just 3.7 seconds.
The i7 offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 603 km on a full charge.
With the help of a 195kW DC charger, the i7 can be topped up from 10-80% in 34 min. A 22kW wallbox charger will take approximately 4.5 hrs for the same.
This electrified Bavarian saloon stands 5,391mm long, 1,950mm wide, and 1,544mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 3,215mm and a boot space of 500 litres.
The i7 takes on the likes of Audi RS e-tron GT and Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS.
