Kia revealed the Syros sub-4 meter SUV in December 2024, and was showcased to public at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The Korean automakers will be launching the Kia Syros SUV on February 1st with deliveries starting from mid-February. For its size, the Syros is smaller than the Seltos but larger than the Sonet. Before its launch, let's go through the features, design, and variant options that it will offer.
The carmakers have confirmed that the sub-compact SUV will be offered in 6 variants which are HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX (O), and HTX+(O). Each of these variants will provide a great range of features and the top-variant has level-2 ADAS 16-Autonoumus Safety Features.
As you look inside the Syros, it impresses with cabin comfort, space, and innovation. The high-quality materials used give it an exclusive vibe, and the wide and tall body makes it good enough for even taller passengers. With great space, Syros is going to be a nice practical choice for families.
The front seats in the car come with ventilation and a reclining backrest. It is the first SUV in the category to feature ventilation function in the rear seats.
Syros come with advanced features such as a panoramic sunroof (except HTK and HTK (O) ), rear AC vents, and USB-C charging ports for both front and rear passengers ensuring convenience. It offers standard features like wireless charging, a Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, and the large Trinity Screen.
The exterior of the Kia Syros is quite special in terms of its design language. It has a tall-boy stance and the styling is inspired by the latest Kia cars. The car can be seen having elements such as the shark fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels which give a sporty feel.
The sub-4m SUV offers two engine options that are a 1.0 T-GDI turbo-petrol engine (producing about 117 bhp and 172 Nm torque), which is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT and a 1.5 CRDI diesel engine (delivering 113 bhp and 250 Nm torque) paired with options for a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic.
Moreover, the automatic variants also offer paddle shifters for a better driving experience.
Kia is yet to announce the pricing, so it is expected that the Syros will start under Rs 10 lakhs (ex-showroom). With its affordable pricing and modern features the SUV will put a competition for Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Citroen Basalt, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite.
