Five new MG cars have been approved to be launched in the Indian market. The first of these would be a Cloud EV which is based on the global-spec Wuling Cloud electric MPV. Adding to it, the company plans to introduce Bingo hatchback before the end of this financial year. MG is also considering some of its halo products in EV space; however, official announcement is yet to be made.
After the successful launch of its affordable Comet EV and the premium ZS EV, the British automaker will introduce its third EV- the Cloud EV. The upcoming EV is likely to sit somewhere between Comet and ZS EV and could be priced in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Visually, it will share some of its design elements with the global model including large front fascia, flush-mounted door handles, and LED light package.
In terms of features, the Cloud EV might offer a fully digital instrument cluster, a multifunctional switch on the steering wheel, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, AC at the second row, dual-tone upholstery, and a 360-degree camera.
The India-bound Cloud EV is likely to get a 50.6kWh battery paired to the single electric motor in the FWD setup. This electric motor can generate a maximum power of 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. It offers a claimed range of over 460 km.
