We have known for a while that Kia Motors is slated to unveil the facelifted Carnival 4th-gen globally in the coming months. Now, ahead of its debut, the latest spy shots have revealed some of the design elements of the upcoming MPV. We take a closer look.
Kia cars had previously showcased the current-gen Carnival as the KA4 at the 2023 Auto Expo. However, since that model is always 3 years old now, India will get the new mid-cycle updated version instead. Looking at the latest spy shots, the new Kia Carnival will get a more upright and angular design similar to newer Kia models. It gets new L-shaped headlights and taillights, updated bumpers, front grille, and all-new alloy wheels. As you can see, the changes are quite substantial.
Moving inside, there will be multiple seating configurations available. Kia has also mentioned that the new Carnival will be going more upmarket with premium cabin materials and added creature comforts and features.
While Kia has not revealed any powertrain details yet, it is expected that the new Carnival will be offered with a strong hybrid engine. It will likely get a 1.6-litre petrol unit that is paired with an electric motor, though output figures are unknown at the moment.
Kia has already confirmed that it will be bringing the new Carnival on the Indian market, sometime around mid-2024. The third-gen model was recently discontinued in June as it reached the end of its life cycle.
In India, the new Carnival will not have any direct rivals but will compete with the Toyota Innova Hycross and all-new Vellfire that sit at the opposite ends of its price spectrum. Considering it is expected to go more premium, the new Carnival will be priced somewhere around the Rs 45 lakh - Rs 55 lakh range.
