BYD India launched its first three-row electric MPV, the eMAX 7 in India with an introductory price of Rs. 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a new variant of the top-selling BYD e6, which the company has just phased out. This latest one has been updated with better features, design, and performance than its predecessor. It is positioned against the extremely popular Toyota Innova as an electric variant.

The BYD eMAX 7 ranges from a host of options and choices based on requirements. The base variant is the Premium 6-seater 55.4 kWh battery variant, which costs Rs. 26.90 lakh. For people who seek more space, there is the 55.4 kWh battery variant, the Premium 7-seater variant, at Rs. 27.90 lakh. Going up the range, the Superior 6-seater variant is available with a larger 71.8 kWh battery and retails at Rs. 29.30 lakh while the Superior 7-seater, carrying the same capacity, is on sale for Rs. 29.90 lakh.
The Premium base model is available with the BYD eMAX 7, featuring a 55.4 kWh battery pack. It delivers 160.66bhp of power together with 310Nm of torque. According to NEDC standards, the given model promises a range of around about 420 kilometres on one single charge. It can hit a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds with a good balance between performance and efficiency for everyday use.

The Superior variant of the BYD eMAX 7 features a 71.8 kWh battery pack that produces a much stronger electric motor of 201.46bhp and torque at 310Nm. The range of the Superior variant is 530km in one single charge cycle. It reaches 0 to 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds, so it is quite smooth and dynamic for a superior variant compared to the Premium variant.
