Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest automaker offers practical, fuel-efficient and reliable products across categories. One among these products is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which was first launched in 2014. Since launch the model has managed to amass over 4.7 lakh sales and is favoured by the public for its tall boy design, comfortable driving experience and a range of features at affordable prices.
Keeping up with the aspirations of the new car buyer, the brand updated the Celerio at the end of 2021 with an all-new design and even more features on the inside. In this blog, we will delve into the design and functionality of the Celerio, exploring its key features and what sets it apart in its segment.
The newly updated Maruti Suzuki Celerio features the brand’s 3D Organic Sculpted design. It now showcases more rounded corners and interesting elements that look refreshing from every angle.
The front fascia features a new grille with sharp chrome accents and sweeping headlamps. At the rear, there are new droplet-styled tail lamps which enhance the overall look of the car.
Hatchbacks are generally more affordable compared to larger vehicles like sedans or SUVs. They often come with a lower price tag and also fall into a lower tax bracket, making them an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers or first-time car buyers.
Maruti Suzuki has positioned the Celerio model as a budget-friendly and value-for-money car, making it accessible to a number of buyers. The price of the four-wheeler starts at Rs 5.36 lakh (ex-showroom) and extends to Rs 7.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec model. Moreover, it offers good fuel efficiency which adds to its overall affordability.

For a budget Indian consumer, fuel efficiency figures play a key role in their new car buying decision. Keeping this in mind, Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Celerio with the frugal 1.0-litre K10C engine. This unit is rated for a maximum power output of 66 bhp and a peak torque of 89 Nm. In CNG mode, the same engine develops a lower 56 bhp and 82 Nm.
In its petrol manual guise, the four-wheeler returns a claimed fuel economy of 26.68 kmpl while in the CNG mode, it delivers 34.43 km/kg. This makes it one of the most fuel-efficient models in the country and a perfect choice for daily commuting and city driving, where fuel economy is important.
Maruti Suzuki cars are equipped with various technologies that enhance comfort, convenience, and connectivity. Some of the notable tech features include a contemporary dashboard, 7.0-inch Smartplay infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, engine-push start button and more.
Apart from all the other benefits, the hatchback comes with safety features as well. These include dual front airbags, Seat Belt Reminder, ABS with EBD, a Rear Defogger, Reverse Parking Sensors, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Programme and more.
Indian customers have shown a liking for the Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback for multiple reasons. Its reputation, affordability, fuel efficiency, features, and easy driving make the hatchback a better choice for any new car buyer.
