Hyundai Kona EV was the first electric vehicle from Hyundai Motors in India. The Kona EV is the first "Made in India" electric SUV that was able to reach Sawula Pass situated at a height of 5,731 meters in Tibet. The vehicle is built on the Hyundai-Kia Global B platform.
The Hyundai Kona EV’s futuristic exterior design sets it apart from other SUVs (petrol & diesel). Up front it offers a closed grille with an integrated charging port, sleek LED headlights, and a sporty bumper with air vents.
On the sides, we can see a strong shoulder line, flared wheel arches, black plastic cladding all round, roof rails and 17-inch alloy wheels. Towards the rear, the electric SUV provides a roof mounted antenna / spoiler, LED tail lights and a back plastic finished bumper.
Interior: Hyundai Kona EV offers an all black interior with a dash of white accents accompanied by ambient lighting. The fit and finish of the cabin is great as it showcases elements such as metal pedals, soft touch pad on the dashboard, premium leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Features: Kona EV offers very attractive features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Other equipment on the list includes: A wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, cruise control, paddle shifters for adjustable regenerative braking, virtual engine sound system among others.
Safety: In terms of safety, the 2023 Kona EV Electric gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), a rear view camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, reverse parking sensors and more.
Hyundai Kona EV price in India starts from Rs 23.84 lakh and extends up to Rs 23.84 lakh (Ex-showroom). There is a 0 variant on offer.
The Kona EV Electric comes powered by a 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers a power output of 136 bhp with 395 Nm of peak torque. The SUV provides three Drive Modes namely Eco, Comfort, and Sport.
It takes a complete night to fully charge the battery with household charger, while with a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just an hour.
There are 5 exterior colour options available on the Hyundai Kona EV SUV. They include Phantom Black, Polar White, Titan Gray with Phantom Black roof, Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof, and Polar White with Phantom Black roof.
The Kona EV electric SUV offers an ARAI Certified mileage of 452 kms on a single full charge with automatic transmission.
