Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV bookings open in India. Customers can visit the official website of the company and book their IONIQ 5 EV model at the token amount of Rs 1 lakh from today. The confirmed pricing of the model will be announced by January 2023 at the Delhi Auto Expo. The all-new electric model is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and is the second electric vehicle after Hyundai Kona in the South Korean automakers product portfolio.
The IONIQ 5 EV will get a larger 72.8 kW lithium-ion battery pack. As claimed, the model is likely to offer a driving range of 631 km on a single charge (ARAI-certified). This electric model can also be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes using a super fast 350 kW DC charger.
The IONIQ 5 is the second all-electric model from Hyundai after the Kona Electric. In addition, the Hyundai flagship model will be underpinned by Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). In terms of the powertrain, the electric motor of the new electric vehicle is said to produce a maximum power output of 214 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. It will also be equipped with Vehicle-to-load (V2L) innovative technology; this enables the customer to power electrical appliances up to 3.6 kW from inside and outside of the car.
For the Indian market, the IONIQ 5 will be the new flagship model of the South Korean automaker. As reported, the all-new Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV will be revealed to the public next month and the prices will be confirmed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023. Besides, it will take on the likes of the Volvo XC40 and KIA EV6 in its segment.
