India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
The Indian subcompact SUV segment is going to see a slew of new launches soon. We already know that the Tata Nexon facelift will be released in September while Kia is also developing the new Sonet facelift. Now we have just spied the Mahindra XUV300 testing on Indian roads. Latest spy shots reveal the automaker has started road-testing the XUV300 facelift. We take a closer look.
While the test mule is clad in heavy camouflage, it still gives us a glimpse into the 2024 Mahindra XUV300 facelift’s design. The front end will likely get restyled headlamps and a new grille as well as a tweaked bumper. Expect the side profile to stay largely similar to the outgoing model, except for new alloy wheels. At the rear, the XUV300 facelift will get a new tail light design with a full-width LED light bar and a reprofiled bumper.
The spy shots also give us a look into the interior of the XUV300 facelift. The subcompact SUV will get a redesigned dashboard layout with a larger, free-standing touchscreen and a new climate control panel. Expect Mahindra to add new features like a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, connected car tech, premium audio setup and more.
The XUV300 facelift will continue with the existing powertrain options. The petrol is a 1.2-litre turbocharged motor that makes 110 bhp with 200 Nm or 131 bhp with 230 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the diesel unit is a 1.5-litre turbo diesel that pumps out 115 bhp with 300 Nm of max torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque converter automatic replacing the current AMT gearbox.
Mahindra is yet to announce a launch date for the XUV300 facelift. However, with its electric sibling the XUV400 slated for a launch early next year, expect the updated XUV300 to be unveiled around the same time.
Upon launch, the XUV300 will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
