Citroen has finally taken the covers off the New C3 Aircross SUV globally. It is the third model from the brand under the C3 nomenclature to be showcased in the Indian auto market after the introductions of the C3 hatchback and eC3 electric car. From India’s stand point, the new compact SUV will go on sale in the second half of 2023. Prices will be announced during the same time.
According to the French brand, the SUV is designed and developed in India. It also has a localisation of up to 90 percent. The design of the vehicle is heavily inspired by the current Citroen product lineup in India. From the outside, it features dual-tone exterior paint schemes and quirky design elements same as C3 and eC3. The Citroen C3 Aircross is said to provide both 5-seater and 7-seater layouts. It is 4.3 mm larger than its hatchback version (C3) and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. It will offer dual-tone alloy wheels with a four-spoke design. Besides, it will provide extendable boot space of up to 511 litres.
Even on the inside, the SUV will feature dual-tone elements which are bound to spruce up the overall feel of the cabin. Equipment like a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and up to 5 quick-charging USB sockets will be part of the package. Besides these, the company did not mention much about the other features expected to come with the vehicle, however according to rumors one could expect roof mounted air conditioning vents for the second and third row of seats. The four-wheeler will also provide driver assistance systems such as ABS, EBD, and more as standard equipment.
Regarding its powertrain, the manufacturer revealed that the C3 Aircross will come equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine will be capable of delivering a maximum power output of 109 bhp with 190 Nm of peak torque.
