When buying a new car, customers have a bunch of questions in their heads regarding performance and affordability. Every other year, the automotive market surprises viewers by introducing new designs, AI features, and the powerful performance of the vehicles. However, such cars often go out of budget.
Interestingly, popular automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Kia are considerate of the customers who seek budget-friendly cars. Currently, there are numerous affordable cars available in the market including Maruti WagonR, Renault Kwid, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. In fact, some low-budget cars have been launched recently in India including Skoda Kylaq which is priced at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
By the next year, a range of budget-friendly cars are going to be introduced. Here is an overview of those cars:
The South Korean automaker, Kia will bring its new compact SUV in India which is based on the brand's ambitious 2.0 strategy. It is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2025. Positioned above Kia Sonet, the new Syros could be priced somewhere around Rs 9 lakh, making it an affordable car choice with high-end technology and safety features. It will also get multiple engine choices including naturally aspirated petrol, turbo petrol, and diesel engines.
The third-generation Amaze will also make its arrival next month. Scheduled to launch on December 4, the next-gen Amaze will introduce new design changes and a fresh cabin feel to be in line with Honda Elevate. It will also receive a camera-based ADAS suite. Based on the City's platform, the new Amaze will continue to use the current 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, paired to both manual and CVT gearbox. As for the price, expect it to start from Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors's well-known affordable car models - Tiago and Tigor are going to receive a facelift version. The upcoming models will get a cosmetic touch on the outside and an updated feature list inside. Expected to launch in 2025, the Tiago and Tigor facelifts will get new colour choices, a larger infotainment system, a wireless charger, and other smart features that are not present in the current models. Speculations suggest, that Tata might also launch the next-gen Tiago and Tigor in 2026-2027.
The Fronx SUV has been winning the hearts of many Indian customers with its sporty design and powerful performance. Now, Maruti Suzuki will launch its facelift version with a new hybrid engine. It will be powered by the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol with a strong hybrid system. The Fronx facelift will also get enhanced design and features.
