The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra, has released a new teaser of the Thar Roxx 5-door, which is scheduled to make its official debut on August 15, 2024. The new teaser confirms that the new Thar Roxx 5-door will come equipped with a panoramic sunroof.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door will be the first lifestyle off-roader in its class to feature a panoramic sunroof or a sunroof. It will come with a fixed metallic roof, which is the very key requirement to install a sunroof.
The teaser image also reveals that the Thar Roxx will have white seat upholstery as compared to black offered in the 3-door Thar. The previous images confirmed that the SUV's dashboard will come in dual-tone finish. It will come with adjustable headrests, while the dashboard is dominated by a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit. The lifestyle SUV will come equipped with circular LED daytime running lights.
In terms of features, the new Thar Roxx 5-door will come equipped with push button start, LED lighting system, front and rear parking sensors, front and rear armrest, rear air-con vents, and a digital driver's display. It comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The lifestyle SUV rides on 19-inch wheels. It will also share several features with the XUV 700 and the Scorpio N. The Thar Roxx gets dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, auto-dimming IRVM, a 360-degree surround view camera and others.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will also be the first lifestyle off-roader to feature Level 2 ADAS tech. It will get features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, high beam assist, lane assist, collision avoidance assist and others.
It will be based on the new Scorpio N's ladder-frame chassis. Not just the platform, the SUV is likely to source the powertrain options with the Scorpio N. The SUV is expected to be offered in 3 engine options - a 117bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel, a 200bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and a 172bhp, 2.2L turbo diesel. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
