After ending 2022 on a high, Mercedes Benz India has started 2023 on a bang showcasing its road map for 2023. The company plans to target the ‘Top Luxury’ segment in India and launch over 10 products in the coming 12 months. With a market share of 50.6 percent, Mercedes Benz is leading the luxury segment sales in the country and plans to continue this trend and offer more to its customers in form of curated experiences. Kickstarting the year, the company has launched the Mercedes AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet in India at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). This is the first AMG convertible model to ever go on sale in India. Here is everything about the new Mercedes Benz Top Luxury product.
From the outside, the E53 Cabriolet is significantly different to the E-Class LWB that is offered in India. The front end is characterised by the large vertical slat AMG grille along with new LED multi-functional headlamps. The pronounced power bulges on bonnet completes the sporty look of the vehicle. Moving to the side, the new model looks identical to the E-Class Coupe in the overall silhouette with the top up. The soft fabric top along with the chrome shoulder line gives the car an overall unique identity. At the rear, the four-wheeler gets sharp and precise and design that features twin exhaust finished in chrome and a body-coloured boot lip spoiler.
Overall, the E53 Cabriolet features a sporty design that is usually associated with an AMG model.
Moving to the inside, the car features an identical dashboard design to the current generation Mercedes car models that comes finished in a choice of exquisite materials. The dashboard of the convertible features twin 12.3 screen offering a choice of 4 display themes and an HUD. Other features in the cabin include extended arms for seatbelt access, 13-speaker (590W) Burmester audio system, AMG flatbottom steering wheel and special AMG Nappa leather seats with multi-contours.
The soft-top of the car can be operated on the move up to speeds of 50 mph. From close to open to full process takes under 20 seconds. In conclusion the interiors of the E53 Cabriolet offer a familiar feeling to its new owners with a host of new feature additions.
In 2023, the AMG E53 Cabriolet comes equipped with electrified V6 engine. The 3.0-litre unit with the 48V EQ boost system produces a total of 435 bhp and 520 Nm of torque. The EQ boost mild hybrid system momentarily offers an extra 22 bhp and 250 Nm of torque during high load conditions. The vehicle comes mated to an AMG 9-Speed TCT gearbox that offers seamless shifts helping the car to complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in 4.5 seconds.
For enhanced comfort and handling, the car comes with a contoured body, multi-chamber air suspension, electric wind deflector and an electric wind blocker.
In addition, Mercedes Benz is also offering a host of ‘designo’ customisation options on the E53 Cabriolet that include exterior colours, wheels, interior trim, seats and the soft top.
