Electric versions of the Tata Harrier, Altroz, and Safari have been teased by Tata Motors electric sub brand .EV ahead of Auto Expo 2023. These three electric vehicles are going to be the electric version of their flagship models, ie., Harrier SUV, Safari SUV, and Altroz hatchback. Apart from them, Tata Curvv EV Concept and Avinya EV Concept will also be showcased at the event by the homegrown automaker.
The electric version of Altroz was expected from Tata Motors since it made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. Now, the company is ready to showcase the Altroz EV at the upcoming motor show.
The electric powertrain and battery pack of the EV are likely to use the battery unit that powers the Nexon EV. Mated to Tata’s PMS electric motor, the 30.2 kWh battery pack will help the Altroz EV to generate a maximum power output of 128 bhp with 245 Nm of peak torque. The EV is said to offer a range of around 350 kms on a single charge.

According to a media report, both EV SUV twins will be featuring a powerful electric motor and a higher capacity battery pack as compared to the Tata Altroz EV. It would be a wonderful opportunity for the electric sub-brand .EV to introduce all-wheel drive (AWD) versions of the Safari and Harrier in the Indian auto market albeit in the EV guise.
Apart from this, we can expect both these electric SUVs to sport a minimum battery capacity of around 60 kWh. This can generate a power output of around 200 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. As far as the range is concerned, it said that the vehicles could offer a certified range of around 400 to 450 kms on a single full charge.
