Toyota has updated the Corolla Cross, its entry-level compact SUV for international markets. The 2026 model year (MY2026) brings refreshed exterior styling, a redesigned interior with more features, and the introduction of a new GR Sport variant. Built on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform, the Corolla Cross continues to be offered with both petrol and hybrid powertrain options.
The 2026 Corolla Cross introduces two striking front fascia designs that set it apart in the compact SUV segment. The Hybrid version features a sleek, colour-matched design, while the gas-powered model gets a rugged and bold front-end appearance. These design updates enhance the Corolla Cross’ sporty, compact silhouette.
New to the 2026 model is the Cavalry Blue exterior paint, available on select models such as the gas LE, XLE, and Hybrid SE. For a touch of sophistication, the Hybrid SE and XSE grades offer a two-tone Cavalry Blue with Jet Black roof. The Corolla Cross also offers new wheel designs, including 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark-gray metallic finish and machined accents for the XLE, as well as glossy-black aluminum alloy sport wheels for the Hybrid XSE.
Step inside the Corolla Cross and you'll find a redesigned front console with more storage space to keep your essentials organized. The XLE model also introduces a new Portobello interior colour for a more premium feel.
Tech lovers will enjoy the 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen available on XLE and XSE models, along with a 7-inch display or an optional 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The XLE AWD and Hybrid XSE now come standard with a Cold-Weather package, including a heated steering wheel and heated front seats for extra comfort in winter.
Safety remains a priority in the 2026 Corolla Cross, with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite standard across all grades. This comprehensive package includes features like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Automatic High Beams.
Additionally, the Corolla Cross comes equipped with Toyota’s STAR Safety System, which includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, and Anti-lock Brake System, further ensuring driver and passenger protection.
The 2026 Corolla Cross offers two powertrain options to suit different driving preferences. The Hybrid model is powered by Toyota’s 5th Generation Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, featuring a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine paired with three electric motors for a total output of 196 horsepower. With standard Electronic On-Demand AWD, this hybrid variant offers an estimated 42 MPG combined, making it both powerful and fuel-efficient.
For those opting for the gas-powered model, the Corolla Cross is equipped with a 2.0-litre Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, generating 169 horsepower. The gas-powered models also feature a Continuously Variable Transmission with Intelligence and Shift Mode, ensuring an engaging driving experience. AWD versions come with Dynamic Torque Control, optimizing power distribution for better traction and fuel efficiency.
Note: Pricing and availability will be announced closer to the launch later this year.
