BMW India has finally launched its All-New X1 SUV in India. Like its previous generation, the 2023 X1 is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The Third-Generation BMW X1 is priced at Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for petrol and Rs 47.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant. Interested customers can book their new car at any BMW authorized dealership or can do so online via Shop.bmw.in. Deliveries for BMW X1 sDrive 18d M Sport (diesel) will begin from March onwards and the BMW X1 sDrive 18i xLine (petrol) from June.
The New BMW X1 is sharply redesigned when compared to its previous generation. In terms of dimensions, the 2023 X1 is slightly larger than its predecessor – 53 mm longer, 24 mm wider, and 44 mm taller. Even the wheelbase has been increased by 22 mm. Its surface lines, classy exterior, and monolithic design display its SAV identity clearly.
Upfront, it features slim LED headlights and a large BMW kidney grille. The bumper gets more angular creases with brushed silver inserts, sleeker headlamps, and new inverted L-shaped DRLs. The new SUV is characterized by smooth surfacing and flush door handles. Towards the rear, it highlights slim wraparound LED tail lamps and the sculpted rear bumper with silver inserts. Besides, the 2023 X1 rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the vehicle offers the company’s latest generation curved display that sits atop the dashboard. A floating centre console and new storage spaces make the dashboard look clear. Slim AC vents are neatly integrated into the dashboard. The German brand also claims that the latest X1 provides more space for its rear-seat occupants.
The car offers a host of new features. Some of them are Adaptive LED Headlights with High Beam Assistant, My BMW App with Remote Functions, BMW Live Cockpit Plus with Curved Display, Instrument Panel Luxury, Active Seats, Harmon Kardon audio system, and many more.

2023 BMW X1 is offered with two powertrain options; a petrol (sDrive 18i xLine) engine and a diesel (sDrive 18d M Sport) unit in India. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder unit that generates 134 bhp of maximum power output with 230 Nm of peak torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds and gives an average fuel consumption of 20.37 kmpl, ARAI certified.
On the other hand, the 2.0- litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine produces 148 bhp of power output and 360 Nm of peak torque. The SUV accelerates from a standstill to 100 kmph in 9.2 seconds and offers an ARAI-claimed mileage of 16.3 kmpl. Both engine options come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The just launched 2023 BMW X1 competes against the likes of the New Audi Q3 (priced at Rs 44.89 lakh to 50.39 lakh, ex-showroom), Mercedes-Benz GLA (priced at Rs 46.50 lakh to 50.50 lakh, ex-showroom), and the Volvo XC40 (priced at Rs 45.90 lakh, ex-showroom) in the entry-level SUV segment.
