Tata Harrier Facelift coming in 2023; Will get a host of new features including a 360-degree camera and a new infotainment system; Spotted testing without camouflage.
Launched at the start of 2019, the Tata Motors Harrier has undergone major cosmetic transformations with various special edition models. Now that it is 3 years old, the vehicle feels dated in terms of equipment and the brand has finally decided to update it with modern features and a new petrol powertrain option. The latest spy shots of the Harrier Safari duo suggest new feature enhancement to the overall package.
The highlight of the facelift will be a new infotainment system which is expected to grow in size. A closer look at the latest spy images, the front console is kept in full covers and we expect the 10-inch system to adore a new centre console design. The new display is expected to be a free-standing unit, with a new interface and features like wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay. Other prominent additions are said to include a 360-degree parking camera, air purifier, ventilated front seats and more. Apparently, ADAS functions are also expected to be a part of the package.
Facelifts generally bring minor changes to the design, and the story is no different with the Harrier. The spy shots reveal a refreshed front fascia, with a new front grille, updated headlamp design and a tweaked bumper.
Overcoming its handicap and helping the company comply better with CAFÉ-2 norms, we can expect the Harrier to come with a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine along with the familiar, 2.0-litre Kryotech diesel engine. The former is expected to produce 150bhp while the latter will make up to 170bhp. Both engine options will be available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
