Fulfilling its commitment of launching 10 special 50 year anniversary models in India, BMW India has launched its 7th model with the M8 Competition. Priced at Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom), the M8 Competition Coupe ‘50 Jahre M’ edition features cosmetic updates inside out along with a bump in power.
Like with all 50 Jahre M edition models, the M8 also features the special 50 year badge along with flared aluminium wings with M gills, rear spoiler lip, M-specific diffuser and M-specific double-flow exhaust system with quad tailpipes highlight racing aspirations. The new model also gets a Special 50 Jahre M emblem, Competition badging, M Sport exhaust system, 20-inch jet black alloys with red M compound brake callipers, Kidney Grille in black high gloss, full leather merino upholstery, M seat belts and M headliner Alcantara Anthracite. Along with other updates, the M8 Competition Coupe ‘50 Jahre M’ also gets an exclusive Daytona Beach Blue paint job.
For the first time in India, the special M8 model gets the M Carbon exterior package that offers carbon fibre front bumper, side air intake, exterior mirror caps, rear spoiler and rear diffuser.
On the inside, the vehicle gets the newly developed M Sport seats and exclusive two-tone full leather 'Merino' upholstery with hexagonal embroidery among others.
The BMW M8 Competition Coupe ‘50 Jahre M’ comes equipped with most powerful M Twin Turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 producing 625 bhp and 750 Nm. This system comes mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and helps the car achieve the 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds.
