Automakers has started releasing their sales numbers for the month of February 2025. The sales figures reveal positive sales growth for most of the brands. While Mahindra reports a significant 19 percent year-on-year growth in terms of SUV sales, Hyundai recorded a decent surge in exports in February.

Mahindra has managed to outsell Hyundai to become the second largest car manufacturer in India in February 2025. The company has registered a total sale of 52386 utility vehicles including domestic and exports. In the domestic market, Mahindra sold 50,420 vehicles in the Indian market. In the domestic passenger vehicle category, Mahindra has recorded an impressive 19% Year-on-Year sales growth.
On the year-to-date (YTD) February side, Mahindra & Mahindra has registered a year-on-year sales growth of 20 percent. The company sold a total units of 5,03,439 units in FY25 as against 4,10,246 units sold in FY24.
Talking about exports, Mahindra reported a massive Y-o-Y growth of 99% with 3,061 units exported in February 2025 compared to 1,539 units in the same month last year.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has registered a total sales of 58,727 units in the month of February 2025. The company reported an handsome surge in exports. Out of the total 58,727 units, Hyundai sold 47,727 units in the domestic market and 11,000 units were shipped last month. The company has registered a Year-on-Year sales growth of 6.8 percent.
However, the brand's domestic YoY sales decline in February. The company had sold 50,201 units in the month of February 2024. The domestic Year-on-Year passenger vehicle sales of Hyundai declined by good 4.3 percent last month.
Domestic Passenger Vehicles Sales - MSIL has sold a total of 160791 units in February as against 1,60,271 units in the same month last year. The company reports a marginal growth of 0.32 percent.
LCV and Sales to OEMs - MSIL sold 2,710 units of Super Carry LCV last month compared to 3126 units in February 2024. The company sold 10,878 units to OEMs that's a significant rise of 111% compared to 5147 units delivered in February 2024.
Exports - Maruti Suzuki has managed to export 25,021 vehicles last month as against 28,927 units in February 2024. The exports reported a negative growth of 13.50%.
Tata Motors sold a total of 46,435 passenger vehicles in February 2025, reporting a YoY sales decline of 9.43%. The company had sold 51,267 vehicles in the same month last year. The brand's month-on-month sales were also declined.
Tata Motors has sold a total of 5343 electric cars in the month of February 2025 as against 6,923 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales decline of 22.82%.
Kia has sold a total of 25,026 vehicles in the month of February 2025, registering an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 23.89 percent. The company sold 20,200 units in the same month last year.
