Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 9 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in India. It is an all-electric, 3-row SUV, whose global unveil took place in November 2024. The features are impressive and its claimed range goes up to 620 km. Ioniq 9 is a part of the Born-EV lineup by Hyundai, which promises to set new boundaries for electric mobility with advanced technology and performance.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 possesses a futuristic design. It features vertically stacked headlights with pixel-like elements and has a blacked-out grille housing the radar sensor for its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Its sporty profile is finished with 19-inch alloy wheels, though this can be pushed up to 21-inch units. It also features digital side mirrors that render it more aerodynamic and aid in less drag, working for its efficiency.
The rear too is stunning for the Ioniq 9, with again vertically stacked pixel elements LED taillights, and a rear bumper in either silver or black. A connection between the left and right sides of the Ioniq rear bumper is brought by a top-mounted stoplamp.
On the inside, the Ioniq 9 features a minimalist design with a two-tone interior. The most stunning element is the curved panel that combines two large digital screens-one to replace the instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system. The cabin boasts flexibility as it can seat up to six or seven people. In the case of the six-seater version, the second-row seats can swivel 180 degrees for a better view of the third row in a stationary vehicle.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 fits the car with a 110.3 kWh battery pack. It comes in two drivetrain editions, the long-range variant being RWD and the performance variant being an AWD setup. It offers WLTP-claimed range, around 620 km along with a single charge that would make it one of the more efficient electric SUVs in its segment. This car also supports ultra-fast charging, with its battery being filled from 10% to 80% in a mere 24 minutes when connected to a 350 kW DC fast charger.
There are a lot of safety features that are available on the Ioniq 9. This car features as many as 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and a Level-2 ADAS suite with lane-keep assist and forward collision avoidance. Dynamic torque vectoring, lateral wind stability control, and an AI-powered Terrain Traction Control system help make the car respond better to the changing driving conditions.
