Recently, Hyundai showcased its Ioniq 9 electric SUV at the LA Auto Show. The India launch was uncertain before it made its global debut, but according to the latest media reports, the flagship electric SUV will also be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will take place from January 17, 2025, onwards.
From the design perspective, the Ioniq 9 boasts a rounded front fascia with an LED light bar. The LED headlamps and taillights highlight the brand's Parametric pixel inserts, similar to Ioniq 5. The electric SUV offers the choice of 20-inch or 21-inch wheel sizes as standard. Besides, customers will have 16 colour options for the exterior.
In terms of dimensions, the 3-row SUV is 5,060 mm long, 1,980 mm wide, and 1,790 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm.
The Ioniq 9 comes in 7 interior shade options to choose from. It is also available with 6-seat or 7-seat layouts. Some of the premium interior features include a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, roof-mounted AC vents, and multiple 100W USB-C ports in all rows. The electric SUV's first gets the massaging functionality while the second row can swivel.
The Ioniq 9 offers 10 airbags and other safety features. It also gets ADAS with multiple cameras and sensors.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 is based on the E-GMP modular platform, which is also shared by Kia EV9.
It comes in two trims; Long Range and Performance. Both are powered by a 110.3 kWh battery pack. The LR trim gets RWD and AWD setup, while the Performance variant is available with AWD.
The power torque of Long Range RWD is rated at 218 bhp/350 Nm while its AWD variant adds 95 bhp/255 Nm. The top-spec Performance variant offers 218 bhp on each axle. The maximum range can reach 620 km on a single charge with the LR trim, claimed by Hyundai.
