Months after the introduction, Jeep is set to reveal the price of the Meridian 7-seater premium SUV on the 19th of May 2022. Deliveries are expected to start from the first week of June.
Following the reveal and media drives, Jeep India is all set to launch the Meridian 7-seater premium SUV on the 19th of May 2022. The price list of the SUV will be shared on the same day with deliveries expected to start from June 2022.
Jeep India claims that the Meridian is specifically designed for the Indian market with 82 percent localisation. The production of the premium SUV is in full swing at the company’s Ranjangaon manufacturing facility.
In terms of looks, the Meridian’s silhouette is a well-packed combination of the smaller Jeep Compass and the larger Jeep Cherokee. The SUV sports an upright stance, with sleek LED headlights and integrated DRLs. The iconic 7 slat grille with prominent air intake below it characterises the front end. In terms of dimensions, the Jeep Meridian measures 4,769 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width and 1,682 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,794mm.
On the inside, the 7-seater SUV sports a familiar layout to the Compass with minor changes to the upholstery. The vehicle carries forward the same 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment display with 9 high definition speakers by Alpine and a 10.25 inch fully digital driver’s instrument cluster. The four-wheeler also features a long list of standard equipment like automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a powered driver seat with memory function & ventilation, wireless charging and a powered tailgate.
Under the hood, it is powered by a familiar 2.0 litre Fiat sourced MultiJet turbo diesel engine which churns out 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is available with the options of a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The vehicle is loaded with safety features like 6 airbags, electronic parking brake, ESC, traction control and more. The SUV is available only with two variants, namely Limited and Limited (O). The latter of the two variants features the AWD system, with 4-low mode, different driving modes and more.
When launched, the Jeep Meridian will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Isuzu mu-X in its segment.
