Kia has issued a voluntary recall for 1,380 units of its electric vehicle - EV6 in India. This is applicable for the models produced between March 3, 2022, and April 14, 2023.
This recall aims to provide a software update for the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) so the charging process and the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery can be improved.
Kia has proactively initiated this update to improve the overall ownership experience for affected customers. The recall specifically applies to the pre-facelift Kia EV6.
The company has notified the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) about the recall and has begun contacting owners to inform them about the update.
Apart from this, Kia is currently testing the new-gen Seltos and Carens EV. The upcoming Kia Carens facelift is expected to bring a range of upgrades, both in design and features. Spy shots of the test mule reveal a panoramic sunroof. Meanwhile, Kia is also testing the next-gen Seltos, recently spotted undergoing winter testing in Europe. With both models set for updates, Kia seems to strengthen its presence in the Indian and global markets.
