Kia cars India is ending the year on a high with the grand unveiling of the Sonet Facelift. The new Kia Sonet offers a refreshed exterior design along with added features and ADAS on the inside. Bookings for the new model open from 20 December 2023 with deliveries set to start early 2024.
For 2023, Kia cars has decided to limit the exterior refresh to new lights, bumpers and alloy wheel design. Upfront the new LED headlight design is in-sync with the recently launched Kia Seltos Facelift featuring a tri-pod design for the main beam and C shaped LED DRL. Other new elements include a muscular bumper and updated chrome grille that help enhance the SUVs appeal.
In profile, the car retains its overall design but features new design for the 16-inch alloy-wheels. At the rear we once again get to see connected LED tail lamps and reprofiled bumpers.
Moving inside, the Sonet facelift will continue to offer a premium experience featuring soft touch materials on the dashboard along with semi-leatherette upholstery. New equipment on offer include a coloured digital instrument cluster seen on many premium Hyundai and Kia car and a 4-way power adjustment driver’s seat. Excluding these updates, the model will continue to come provided with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, BOSE 7-speaker premium sound system, LED ambient lighting, rear door sunshade curtains, ventilated front seats, air purifier, fully automatic climate control and over 70 Kia Connect functions.
Like we have seen on the Seltos Facelift, the new Sonet will also feature three distinct interior colour and seat patterns for the Tech Line, GT Line and the X Line.
Safety gets a major boost on the new Kia Seltos Facelift. The new model now get 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring and Level 1 ADAS with 11 functions like forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning and leading vehicle departure alert.
Other standard safety fitment on the model includes 6 airbags, ESC, hill start assist and TPMS among others.
The new Kia Sonet will be offered with 3 powertrain options – 2 petrol and one diesel. The Tech line models will be offered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine that offers 81 bhp and 115 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit that is rated for 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the GT line and X-Line models will get a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol with 120 bhp. Transmission options include 5-/6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DCT.
Prices for the new model will be announced soon, customers can book the Kia Sonet at their nearest dealership or online starting 20 December 2023. Existing Kia customers can share their K-code with interested buyers for priority delivery.
