Bharat NCAP has crash-tested many new models. Their safety features and ratings have been found to be adequate for adult and child protection. All the details of each model are given below.
The 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier SUVs scored 30.08 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.54 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection. In the aspect of security, the car is equipped with several fitments like the dual front airbag, side curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and seat belt reminders for both variants. Impressive results in tests showcase impacts with front and side tests. Tata Punch EV The subcompact SUV scores an adult Occupant Protection of 31.46 out of 32 and the Child Occupant Protection score 45 out of 49. Punch EV is offered with dual front airbags, side curtains, ESC, and seatbelt reminders. The Punch EV has been awarded a five-star rating both for the frontal impact and the side impact and hence the fantastic safety for all the occupants. Additional anchorages are fitted on outboard seats in the form of ISOFIX to reinforce a child seat.
In the Tata Nexon EV, the Adult Occupant Protection score is 29.86 out of 32. Child Occupant Protection score 44.95 out of 49. These high ratings in impact tests simply indicate that the Nexon provides all-around protection to its occupants and comes with a list of standard safety assist technologies for the variants.
The Curvv EV, the SUV coupe, did well at 30.81 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 44.83 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. It already comes with all safety features, with airbags both front and side, ESC, and ISOFIX anchors. Heated-up crash tests showed that the Curvv EV had well passed the safety assistant technologies test as a standard fitment across all model variants.
The Tata Curvv SUV coupe scored 29.50 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 43.66 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. The SUV features dual front and side airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX points on child seats. One must be glad that such good scores in frontal and side impacts prove just how committed this car is to road safety. Adult Occupant Protection scored 26.19 out of 32 for the 2024 Citroen Basalt SUV coupe, while Child Occupant Protection scored 35.90 out of 49. For Basalt, standard safety equipment includes front and side airbags, ESC, ISOFIX child seat tethers, and seatbelt pretensioners. Side impacts proved that the protection of all occupants' bodywork was good. Several variants fit pedestrian protection safety equipment.
2024 Mahindra XUV 400 EV rated 32/32 Adult Occupant Protection, and Child Occupant Protection score 43.00/49. The electric SUV model also retains some essential safety features, which include two front airbags, curtain airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX mounting points for child seats. It passed very well the test scoring so high in the frontal offset test yet very much higher in the side impact test. The Bharat NCAP score has been assigned 29.36/32 to Mahindra XUV 3XO in Adult Occupant Protection and 43.00/49 in Child Occupant Protection. Well, indeed this car goes pretty well in crash tests, especially concerning the frontal and side impacts test. Additional passive safety features of the Thar Roxx include seat belt reminders and pedestrian protection.
