Tata Motors has finally introduced the Dark Editions of the Curvv ICE and Curvv EV in the Indian market. The Tata Curvv ICE is available in the price bracket of Rs 19.49 lakh to Rs 19.52 lakh, while the Curvv EV is priced at Rs 22.24 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, India.
It is based on the range-topping Accommplished trim, which is available with two engine options - a 1.2L direct injection turbo-petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel. While the former is good for 123bhp and 225Nm, the oil burner produces 116bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Curvv Dark Edition is finished in new Carbon Black paint. Bumpers, grille and 18-inch alloy wheels are now comes with an all-black treatment. It features full-width LED lighting system, and gloss black finish for the cladding on the wheel arches.
Inside the cabin, the leatherette upholstery, centre console and roof liner are finished in black. In terms of features, the SUV gets 9-speaker JBL sound system, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, and gesture-controlled tailgate. The SUV has disc brakes for all wheels, six airbags and ADAS suite.
It is based on the top-spec Empowered+ A trim, which is packed with a 55kWh battery pack. Priced at Rs 22.24 lakh, the new Curvv EV Dark Edition is Rs 25,000 costlier than the standard model. It gets blacked out scheme on the lower section of the front bumper. Similar to the Curvv ICE Dark, the Curvv EV Dark Edition gets blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, Carbon Black exterior paint and DARK badging on the fenders.
Instead of light grey and ivory upholstery, the Curvv EV Dark Edition gets the dark interior theme with roofliner, dashboard and leatherette upholstery are finished in black. A new sunshade has been added to the Dark Edition of the SUV. In terms of features, the SUV gets a 10.25-inch driver's display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a JBL sound system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, LEVEL 2 ADAS and six airbags.
Packed with a 55kWh battery pack, the Curvv EV Dark Edition comes with a FWD motor rated at 167hp and 215Nm. It is claimed to offer a 502km MIDC range on a single charge. The EV can attain 0-100kmph acceleration in 8.6 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 160kmph in Sport mode.
