Mahindra is excited to launch its new electric range, i.e., BE.05 and XUV.e9 in India. Recently, the production-spec BE.05 was spotted on roads, which gave us clear visuals about its exterior design and tech features. The homegrown automaker is expected to launch the BE.05 in January 2025 and will start manufacturing these electric cars at the Chakan plant in late 2024.
The BE.05 will have similar dimensions to the upcoming Maruti eVX electric SUV. It will be 4,370 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,635 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.
Visually, the BE.05 will have a unique road presence with its attractive design elements and Piano Black finishes. Some of its exterior design elements include C-shaped LED DRLs, glossy black body cladding, sloping roofline, aero-spec dual-tone alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, chunky rear diffuser, full-length LED light bar on the tailgate.
Even on the inside, the electric SUV will have an innovative design theme. It will have twin digital screens for infotainment and driver's display, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with the backlit BE logo, a heads-up display, and the airplane-inspired gear lever. In addition, the centre console will have the drive mode selector, engine start/stop button, cup holders, front armrest and Level 2 ADAS kit.
The upcoming BE.05 will be based on the new INGLO platform, specifically designed for electric cars. As for the battery, the electric SUV is expected to have a 60 kWh battery pack with two electric motors, offering a claimed range of 500 km on a single charge. It will have both RWD and AWD options.
