The much-awaited Mahindra Thar 5-door will finally go on sale later this year. Set to debut in August 2024, the 5-door avatar will be offered with a range of new features over its 3-door counterpart. Expect the official launch in October this year.
The 5-door avatar will have significant differences compared to its 3-door sibling. Depending on the variant, the Thar 5-door could get both single-tone and dual-tone options for the dashboard. The centre console will also be reworked to accommodate the larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen.
Mahindra Thar Armada is also likely to offer two choices for sunroof - a single-pane sunroof for the lower variants and a dual-pane sunroof for the higher trims.
Other expected features might include front & rear centre armrests, electrically adjustable & ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a larger digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, reading lamps for rear passengers, and more.

Safety-wise, the Thar 5-door is likely to offer six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and front parking sensors. Based on the previous sightings, the vehicle could also get an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) comprising features like Driver Drowsiness Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more.
Beneath the hood, the Mahindra Thar Armada 5-door will be powered by the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine options, same as offered in its 3-door version. However, the engines will be tuned to offer more power output. Besides, both powertrains will be mated with manual and automatic transmissions. The vehicle could also get both 4x2 and 4x4 versions.
