All-Electric MINI Cooper SE bookings reopen in India; Limited to 40 units; Now comes with added features; Priced at Rs 50.90 lakh
BMW Group India has re-opened bookings for the MINI Cooper SE in India. The all-electric hatchback now gets added features and has become pricier than before at Rs 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The second batch of the four-wheeler is limited to just 40 units and can be booked online at the MINI online shop.
Rs 2.20 lakh extra gets you features like adaptive LED headlights, a new housing for the LED indicators and the ‘S’ logo finished in energetic yellow. Towards the side, the company has provided the car with new 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels with new yellow outlining, while the rear remains unchanged.
The cabin of the Cooper SE now sports a new cloth/ leatherette combination upholstery finished in black pearl light chequered finish. Its steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather and comes with reduced control switches for easy operation. Other prominent additions to the four-wheeler’s cabin include heated and cooled front seats along with a comfort access system which lets you lock and unlock the car without taking the keys out.
Despite the bump in price, the Cooper SE’s power unit remains the same. The electric hatchback comes powered by a 96-cell battery pack that propels a 135 kW electric motor. The system is rated for a maximum power output of 181.5 bhp with 270 Nm of peak torque. Performance wise, it sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds and offers a range of 270 kilometres on a full charge. The 50 kW DC charger charges the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 36 minutes.
In addition to the changes, the car comes loaded with modern tech features like MINI wired package with navigation system, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Harmon Kardon speaker sound system. Other standard equipment include dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control, run-flat tyres and a rear-view camera.
Tata Motors will launch the new Sierra ICE and EV before the end of this year - Harrier EV launch expected in May-June 2025.
