Just days after launching its flagship luxury sedan, the 7-Series, BMW India has launched yet another new product, the 2023 X7 in India. Priced at Rs 1.22 crore (ex-showroom), the next-generation X7 gets an updated exterior design along with a brand-new interior layout and more powerful engines than before.
From the outside, one can instantly witness the brand-new design language of the X7 that includes the split LED headlamp design similar to the one seen on the new BMW 7-Series and the i7 sedans. The large kidney grille with cascade lighting element, new 3D LED taillight and new chrome highlight on the bumpers differentiates the new X7 from other BMW X models. The car also sits on redesigned 20-inch alloy wheels giving the vehicle a high-tech appearance.
Moving to the interior, the new X7 get an all-new design with the new digital BMW Curved Display that unifies the cockpit and the infotainment area into one floating unit. The 12.3-inch digital cluster gets a whole host of new functionality and themes, while the 14.9-inch touchscreen with BMW iDrive 8 firmware. Other additions to the interior include new ambient lighting effect, sky lounge panoramic glass sunroof and more.
The 2023 X7 is offered with both petrol and diesel mild-hybrid engine option. The 3.0-litre straight six twin turbo engine produces 381 bhp and 520 Nm in the petrol guise and 340 bhp and 700 Nm in the diesel version. Additionally, both engines feature a 48V Electrical Motor that with a power output of 12 hp and torque output of 200 Nm, helping achieve even better efficiency and dynamics.
Transmission duties is taken car by the 8-speed Steptronic transmission that offers quick and smooth shifts. Also available as standard is the xDrive intelligent AWD system that monitors the situation and quickly responds to ensure maximum traction and agility.
BMW is offering the X7 2023 in two variants. The petrol is available in the X7 xDrive40i M Sport trim at a starting price of Rs 1.22 crore (ex-showroom), while the diesel is available in X7 xDrive40d M Sport at a starting price of Rs 1.245 crore (ex-showroom). Both variants are available with 5 colour options that include 3 metallic colours and two BMW individual paints. The standard options include Mineral White, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black. Special colours include Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue.
The new BMW X7 rivals the likes of the Mercedes Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and the Volvo XC90 in the country. We expect the new X7 to make its India debut at next weeks BMW Joy Town event in Bengaluru.
